Client: OK.co.uk – the digital arm of OK! Magazine, a publication about celebrity news, showbiz, fashion and lifestyle.
The Project: I worked as part of a team that helped develop OK’s digital strategy, including their approach to organic search and their social media strategy.
This included restructuring the website to take advantage of their topical authority on various celebrities, optimizing metadata and titles to improve clickthrough rates and improving the social media posting strategy. I also carried out keyword research to identify key topics and produced documentation on how recommendations could be implemented.
I established an OK! Pinterest account, creating boards on popular celebrity themes and working with the OK! team on how to best use the social network to improve referral traffic rates.
Results: Within nine months of our recommendations being implemented they had increased Facebook referrals by 600%, doubled organic traffic and increased engagement by 20%.
